Frye MD, is medical director of Takoma Metro Integrative Care. Professionally certified in Cannabis Science and Medicine by the University of Vermont School of Medicine, she has evaluated and managed thousands of patients with serious conditions, focusing on evidence-based lifestyle choices and medical cannabis to prevent and manage chronic disease and pain.
Dr. Frye is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Maryland in the School of Pharmacy where her award-winning book “The Medical Marijuana Guide: Cannabis and Your Health” serves as a reference resource for the Medical Cannabis Science and Therapeutics Masters of Science program. Dr. Frye also serves on the board of the Society of Cannabis Clinicians, an organization in its 21st year, dedicated to establishing best practices for healthcare providers utilizing cannabis as medicine.
Dr. Frye earned her medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, where she remained to complete her pediatric residency. Continuing her studies at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, in the field of anesthesiology, she gained experience in medical pain management and pain management procedures. Dr Frye approaches treatment in both children and adults with the objective of reducing symptoms, improving quality of living and eliminating unnecessary pharmaceuticals.
